THE MERSEYSIDE SATELLITE CONSULTANTS GROUP

HISTORY AND ACTIVITY

Merseyside Satellite Consultants was founded over forty four years ago, under the name of Aerial Supplies (Liverpool). It has a broad skill base in the design, specification and installation of Integrated Reception Systems for both Freesat and Freeview, Communal TV Distribution Systems, Fixed and Motorised Satellite TV systems, CCTV and Domestic TV Systems.

We have an enviable reputation in design, build, and service, both in Terrestrial and Satellite Television, including DTH, SMATV (I.F. and UHF) and Motorised systems throughout the North West of England and North Wales.

We are Confederation of Aerial Industries " CAI + " approved Installers and install  Freesat and Freeview, also Sky as independant consultants and installers. We supply to the trade, domestic aerials designed and constructed within the manufacturing division.

This division also designs and manufactures specialist aerials for the broadcast and reception markets.

SERVICE

From the initial concept, through design and planning, to installation and maintenance, Merseyside Satellite Consultants has the expertise to tackle any size installation without hesitation, where other teams may fear to go.

THE TEAM

The Merseyside Satellite Consultants Group has highly trained engineers assigned to the various divisions. These engineers and the entire Group are members of The Confederation of Aerial Industries, the Government-Approved body overseeing the Aerial and Satellite Industry. This ensures that all our work conforms to the strict standards of the relevant trade group and most up to date relevant legislation.

THE FUTURE

Aware of constant changing and updating within the communications industry, we ensure that  our engineers are kept informed of today's new technologies through In-House training and external training schemes. Merseyside Satellite Consultants has developed a training programme which guarantees that the very latest information is passed on to its engineers.

Engineering, Planning and Installation.

The Engineering department is responsible for the planning and installation of Television and Satellite Distribution systems in hotels, residential and nursing homes where the siting of individual satellite dishes is considered environmentally unacceptable. We provide a planning service and consultancy role to Business, Architects, Builders, Housing and Hotel Groups. Our engineers have been involved in VSat installations for Camelot, the Lottery people, carrying out work throughout the North, the Midlands and Wales.

In addition, we have a large and expanding business in the supply, installation and maintenance of security camera installations for blocks of flats. We can supply CCTV systems which can be used alongside door entry systems thus giving the tenant the added security of monitoring on their own television, the person ringing the door bell. These systems are being installed by Housing Associations where elderly people are housed and need that extra sense of security. The security side of the business is a rapidly expanding part of M.S.C.'s business.

Administration and Customer Service.

The Administration department being the first contact with our customers, looks after Sales, Service and Installation requests, routing the engineers via mobile phones to their destination. Of course they also look after the customer accounts as well as the day to day operations of the company.

TELEVISION AND SATELLITE DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS.

Merseyside Satellite Consultants Ltd, provide a consultancy and planning service to Architects, Builders, Developers, Electrical Contractors, and ALL of the Local Authorities that surround Merseyside, including Schools, Hospitals, and Prisons etc. As television and satellite distribution systems are becoming more complex it is essential that the systems are planned correctly. Installers must be aware of IET Wiring Regulations when planning and installing distribution systems. As members of the C.A.I. we are kept aware of the new regulations and codes of practice put forward by the industry and so can pass on that information to our clients.

Good planning is essential on distribution systems as requirements are that the end user must be able to receive the correct level of signal at the television outlet in order to receive good pictures. Television signals cover a wide range of frequencies, with signals in the higher frequency range, signal strength will attenuate quicker than signals in the lower frequency range. If systems are not designed correctly it can result in some signals being weak whilst others are too strong giving rise to interference on weaker channels.  We know that good practice will help determine which cables should be used, what methods of fixing are required, where isolated or non isolated equipment should be used, where earth bonding is required and what power requirements are required for systems. From experienced gained over the years and our determination to build on good engineering practices we have enhanced our reputation for the future.
